Qtec Systems was incorporated in March 1999 during the infamous technology boom. The company, now operating in five states across Australia, is privately held and headquartered in Melbourne, Australia.Qtec’s core business revolves around two distinct but interrelated business units – professional services and network services. In each of these business units Qtec has pioneered a managed services philosophy. Where appropriate managed services are complemented with traditional IT outsourcing methodologies to deliver complete IT department services. Since inception, Qtec has employed a turnkey solution delivery model and this continues to be the case to the present. Qtec has customers across a broad range of market segments including government, corporate and small-to-medium enterprises. In early 2000 Qtec won a tender to provide specialist technical support services across dozens of government sites throughout Victoria. This government tender was been renewed no less than 4 times. Strong emphasis on research and development has always been a very important part of the company’s culture. This has been recognised in industry and Qtec has been, and continues to be, the recipient of government grants to develop new technologies for both domestic and export markets. Data services including hosted content, email and Internet access have always been part of Qtec’s product portfolio. In 2004 Qtec added fixed line voice services becoming a full service telecommunications carriage service provider (CSP) in Australia. Currently Qtec provides switched and directly connected fixed line voice services as well as 13/1300/1800 inbound voice services. VoIP and IP Centrex lead the voice product portfolio and many of Qtec’s innovations are in this space. Qtec is a member of all Australian telecommunications industry and regulatory bodies. Qtec Systems has deployed significant resources in data centres across Australia. All network services are managed internally allowing a maximum degree of control and agility. In Melbourne, Qtec has it’s network operations centre where resources in remote data centres are actively monitored. Help desk, research and development, engineering and sales activities also operate from this facility. Field engineers and sales staff are located in most Australian capital cities. Although Qtec does have a direct sales force, a significant volume of sales is derived from a national reseller channel. Qtec’s resellers have been instrumental in the success of voice, data and security products. Core company values are quality, attention to detail, creativity, simplicity, honesty and hard work. These core values drive the company’s mission which is to provide customers part or all of the their technology requirements at a price and quality that would otherwise not be attainable. |
